Thoughts

The first time I met Kath was on a RPS Nature group residential weekend at Kingcombe in Dorset in 2006 I found Kath to be very welcoming and helpful as i was just setting out in nature photography i picked up a lot of tips and soon learned names of the different animal along with latin names. The second recollection I have of Kath was again on another RPS Nature group residential meeting this time at Juniper Hall near Dorking. On the afternoon of the last day when everyone had gone home apart from Myself, Alan and Kath, I had decided to put a LRPS panel together with half of my panel being nature Kath went tirelessly through my work and pick ed out about 10 to 15 nature images for me to choose from, i don't think we left until about 5pm My third and final recollection was when i had my second acceptance in the Kent County photographic annual exhibition in 2008 in the Nature section. i remember the excitement i was feeling when i phoned Kath and told her my news and that i scored 15 points, i didn't know when i rang that i was to be in for more of a surprise as Kath asked me if i'd won the Gold medal, I said no! then Kath asked me if there was any letters after my image so i said yes GM. Kath told me that stood for Gold Medal, so imagine my surprise when Kath told me. Kath will be missed by all who knew her James Foad and Samantha Edwards

I first met Kath many years ago at an RPS Nature Group event. I always found her supportive and inspirational, with a wonderful sense of humour. She was an excellent photographer and a lovely person.
